I purchased these shoes for a 2 week vacation in Europe. I walked 8-12 miles every day in England, France and Italy, up and down hills, stairs, steps, on wet and dry surfaces, through mud, rocks, grass, sand and gravel. I traveled on trains, planes, subways, taxis, scooters, bikes, buses, boats and ferrys. I walked through things on the street and sidewalks of Napoli that are too disgusting to describe and these shoes held up to the task. The shoes required no break-in period and provided excellent comfort, stability, traction and support.
